The Reasons

What the Bible talks about Fitness:

1 Corinthians 6:9-20
"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body."

1 Corinthians 9:24
" Do you now know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize."

Matthew 6:25
"...not to worry about everyday life - whether you ahve enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn't life more than food and your body more than clothing?"

Ephesians 4:22-24
"You were taught, with regard to your former life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in the righteousness and holiness."

Our physical fitness is very important to our Lord becuase honoring God with our bodies is a call to take care of the Lord's "temples." As well as being in shape physically helps us spiritually. Fitness imporves quality of life, quality of health, and function. It's a proven fact that exercise reduces stress, if not eliminating it completely.

"Civilian affairs":
What the world pushes in our direction every day through TV shows, movies, the Internet, music, magazines, and advertisements - the "pleasurable" things. Is it the reason why we should work out? The answer is No. Proverbs 31:30 reminds us that "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleetingl but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." If we are to be praised for anything, it should be becuase we are godly women of good character.
